Stigmatization can take many forms, from societal judgment to self-blame. Let’s recognize these harmful attitudes and work together to create a supportive environment for conflict-related sexual violence survivors.

  1. Many survivors still haven’t applied for their right for the status due to fear of gossip and lack of support.
  2. Most survivors experience stigmatization and exclusion from society and their community.
  3. Most survivors of sexual violence experience unfair feelings of self-blame.
  4. Survivors face everyday prejudice and rejection from society and their social circles.
